DeviantArt is in need of a hungry, humble and smart Digital Art Director/ Lead Designer who can create their own vision from concept to completion to join our in house creative department in Hollywood, CA.

In this role you will be the design leader, implementing templated systems and creating products such as contests, advertising content, pitch decks and more. The ideal candidate has an expert-level grasp of the Adobe Creative Suite with a focus on Illustrator and Photoshop. The right person is also strong in understanding and editing HTML5 and CSS - preferably having experience in the entertainment industry (Film, Television, Gaming, etc).

MUST HAVE:

  • Solid understanding of User Interface Design
  • 5-8 years of design experience in the entertainment industry (movies, games, TV etc).
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop & Illustrator) and Powerpoint
  • Strong Typography skills
  • Can design posters and other marketing materials
  • Ability to design for multiple looks for diverse clients
  • Ability to understand and edit HTML5 and CSS
  • Ability to create graphics for videos
  • Understanding of marketing
  • Understanding and appreciation of Art
  • Strong knowledge of Pop Culture
  • Strong mentorship and leadership skills

ADDITIONAL SKILLS THAT ARE A PLUS:

  • Strong eye for branding, design, and consistency of implementation

  • Experience handling brand collaborations
  • After Effects and animation skills (bumpers, intros etc.)

  • Video editing skills

  • Illustration skills

  • Understanding of content strategy

  • Excitement for comic cons and conventions
