As a community destination, deviantART is a platform that allows emerging and established artists to exhibit, promote, and share their works within a peer community dedicated to the arts. The site's vibrant social network environment receives over 100,000 daily uploads of original art work, ranging from traditional media, such as painting and sculpture, to digital art, pixel art, films and anime.

Our Product Managers serve one of the highest roles in the organization and play a pivotal role in defining the vision of new product initiatives and managing the flow of bringing them to market. This position works hand in hand with the CEO and will have a major voice in shaping the future of deviantART’s product offering. While your previous experience and a strong technology background are important, we are an art site, so it is also crucial that you have a passion for building and designing products targeted to artists and art enthusiasts.

Job Summary:

As a Product Manager you will be responsible for assisting the department as it expands the reach of deviantART’s technologies and creating products that push the boundaries of creativity on the internet.  You will handle end to end product management and will work closely with several internal departments and the online community to conduct research and define product specifications.

Example Responsibilities:

  • Act as an internal advocate and a responsible owner for all new consumer facing products and initiatives that you develop.
  • Work with interface and engineering teams to create design concepts and effective implementation strategies
  • Facilitate communication throughout the development process between multiple internal teams including engineering, marketing, operations, advertising and legal.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, business or management information systems, or related fields
  • 1-3 years of Product Management or Product Design experience developing consumer facing Internet or media products, especially involving communities and social networks
  • Excellent understanding of usability and UI. Ability to wireframe product ideas
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with both executives and engineers
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and quantitative analytical skills.
